Eyam Village Post Office is situated at number 3, Church Street. If you need to send a postcard from the beautiful village of Eyam then the post office can be found on Church Street about halfway between Eyam Hall and Eyam Museum.
Eyam however still has a vibrant community and thriving businesses. Eyam has links with industry, being a worldwide centre for the production of fluorspar, a material of great value in smelting and open hearth furnaces.
Eyam is the perfect setting for a day out in the Peak District. Opening Times We are now closed for the winter season. We will open for February half term from Saturday 15th February through to Sunday 23rd February between 10 am and 4 pm, last admission 3:30 pm.
Now managed by the National Trust, Eyam Hall is a fine example of a Jacobean manor house with its embroideries, engravings and library, plus walled garden with seasonal borders, vegetable plots and open, spacious lawns.

Eyam is one of the best-preserved villages in the vicinity and is the famous 'plague village', which went into voluntary quarantine when the plague was imported from London in 1665. Above the village lies Eyam Moor which is a fine area for walking, with good views across the Derwent valley and many Bronze Age remains and monuments.
Man has been in the neighbourhood since at least the Bronze Age. The Romans were interested in the local lead mining industry which, by the 18 th century, had made Eyam a relatively prosperous place. The village was an Anglo-Saxon settlement; it was recorded as Aiune in the Domesday Book of 1086, which means something like ‘the pieces of land between streams’.
