"Special Unit" is the type of comedy that you will watch once, if you don't get offended by the comedic jabs at disabilities throughout the movie and the portrayal of disabled people, but it is hardly a movie that you will watch more than once. I feel that "Special Unit" ended up as a mediocre comedy.
Special Unit 2 is an American sci-fi/comedy television series that aired on UPN for two seasons from April 11, 2001 through February 13, 2002. The series focused upon the exploits of a top-secret Chicago police division known as Special Unit 2, charged with policing the city's large population of mythological beings, known as "Links".
With the exception of vampires, every monster from folklore and mythology is a missing link between apes and humans, and they all seem to love Chicago. To combat the threat, Chicago PD formed Special Unit 2, known to the rest of the department as a deep-cover plainclothes unit they should steer clear of, to hunt them down and eliminate them.
