Dusky Paradise was funded in large part due to a crowdfunding campaign. And for that, Mr. Kirchhoff should be lauded. He managed to raise the money to see his vision through. Well done. However, his vision is a bland, paint by numbers, “romantic comedy” devoid of any heart originality or soul.
Just enough of a story to pull you along (at the speed of a turtle in a hurry, which is still pretty slow, believe me) and oddly satisfying in the end. Which, one hopes, is a kind of beginning for the lead character, who arrives in this dusky paradise about as disconnected, disaffected, and disinterested as he could be.
"Dark Paradise" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey for her debut studio album, Born to Die (2012). It was written by Lana Del Rey and Rick Nowels, while production was handled by Emile Haynie. Nowels and Devrim Karaoglu produced the radio mix of the song.
